No, if you are using the DuraVent DVL double-wall black stovepipe, that pipe is not intended to be combined with single-wall pipe.

You will need to consult the installation manual for the pellet stove that you are looking to replace your wood-burning stove with.  The venting requirements differ for every appliance and will be found in the installation manual.

Most appliances such as your water heater require a continuous connection of double-wall type B gas vent from the unit's flue collar to the termination. Please consult your installation manual for reference.

We strongly recommend keeping the 6" diameter for the entire chimney.
